What to expect

This FOLDING workshop will be a relaxed, spin jam type setting at a park, with guided folding ideas and transitions, giving us a chance to create fun combos together. I will also show some of my innovative Folding Creations, and encourage other props as well as they are always relative and helpful to change up the pace sometimes. I will bring some snacks and drinks, and encourage anyone else to do the same if they feel the urge! If anyone were to want some extra instruction on Wedgies or Escalators or anything that is of the folding nature (or anything at all really), this would be the time to come!!

Curriculum

  • The class starts with introductions and quick open discussion on “Flow”. We will address ways to feel more natural with the idea of it and how to "create" your own flow, as well as how to apply the concept of flow to everyday life to lead to "optimal experience" and happiness.
  • Then we move to basic foundational "Tech" terminology while we explore basic movements applying this tech we typically overlook with more comprehensive knowledge.
  • Then we'll work on breaking down these movements from beginner to advanced, and show you how to teach yourself new moves using these concepts, such as an isolated hand or an isolated middle point.  We will also discuss different ways you can apply these tricks, from inside to outside grip, in-spin and anti-spin, off-body and on-body, vertical and horizontal planes, wheel and wall planes, and 2-D vs 3-D. This will all be aimed at moves that are 3-Dimensional.

Tricks Covered

Hinges, Arm Folding, Coin Spins around the Head/Leg/Body/Feet, Penny Rolls, Carousel, Body Wraps, Palm Spins, One Handed Helicopters, Jump Throughs, Smears, No-Handed Smears, Escalators - Regular and Reversed, Wedgie variations, and even 3-D TOSSES!!!
