Maurice (Reese) Crawley, also known as "Stoop Kid," has been practicing flow arts since January 2014. The passion and freedom found in the arts has taken him through many different forms of self-expression, but his love is for performance and giving back to the community. From volunteering at the American Youth Circus Organization (AYCO) in Portland, Maine, to video shoots in Birmingham, AL, to fire performances in San Francisco, CA; every endeavor receives all of his time and dedication. Reese looks forward to bringing that same energy to SpinCo and a community near you.

Kai1 Kai2

Kai Menet

Kai began spinning poi at the age of 14 to incorporate into her Polynesian dance recital. She got her first fire poi at the age of 16 and immediately knew that was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. She has performed at many festivals and private parties throughout the North East and enjoys sharing her passions and teaching others the art of flow.  Though poi is her strong suit, she also dabbles in belly dancing, hooping, fire-eating, flow wands, and just about anything she can get her hands on. Her newest human disco ball act features a mirrored costume accompanied by lasers and LED props, resulting in for a truly memorable performance! Kai received some national recognition, appearing on an episode of Impractical Jokers spinning her LED poi with AI Cats Studios. Kai also fabricates UV reactive interactive string art installations and designed SpinCo's pyramid art installation.

Alicia Alicia2

Alicia Talia

New to the game but not unaware, Alicia Talia comes prepared with her staffs and darts. Introduced to Fire staff by a close friend from New Zealand, Alicia practiced ‘Ailao Afi’ Polynesian fire spinning with a double ended D.I.Y. fire staff and became hooked on the movement. After learning the basic moves of Samoan Fire Knife Dancing, she began watching baton-twirling competitions, practicing ballet, and engaging in free-form dance to fuse the movements together on her 5.3’ Three-Worlds contact staff. Nine months later, when Alicia went to visit that same friend, she was presented a rope dart and a bottle of whiskey and the flow-learning process began again.

Alicia spent months learning this art unaware of the Philadelphian flow-arts community. Wanting to progress her skills and embrace the art, she reached out to online groups and found her place and flow. Now that the gates have opened for her, Alicia is fully committed to improving her art and introducing anyone and everyone to the wonderful world of spinning and twirling.

Jessica Jessica2

Jessica Borden

Faerie extraordinaire and multi-medium artist from New Jersey, Jessica Borden works, creates, and expresses herself with her hands. Picking up double staff in 2009, she’s been twirling ever since, from the conclave of Burning Man regional festival Firefly to the runway of Diabolique to the stage of the TLA! Along the way, she learned fire breathing and has dabbled in palm torches, flow wand, and hooping. A dog groomer by trade, she’s also an exhibiting painter, sculptor, photographer, and ceramicist with a passion for written expression and her dog, Dane. She’s excited and eager to explore how she can contribute to and interact with the flow community at large!
